Inspiration
Introduction
“The central goal of the children and nature movement is to help shape a society in which the public once again considers it to be normal and expected for children to be outside and playing in natural areas. Achieving this goal will require change at all levels: personal, political, institutional, and ultimately cultural.”
“Children and Nature 2008” Children & Nature Network
The Children in Nature Collaborative provides opportunities to share and listen to stories from people actively engaged in new ideas and initiatives. More than information, it is often these stories that inspire and sustain us in our work, encouraging more ideas for positive action in our everyday lives.
We invite you to share your stories about new ideas to reconnect children with nature that you have put into action as an individual or as part of an organization. These stories may range from ideas in the lives of families and neighborhoods to changes in organizations and communities. Please include these elements in your story: what inspired you (or your organization), what were the challenges (if any), and what was the response (in you or your family, neighborhood, organization, or community)? Send your story along with a photo to info@cincbayarea.org.
